Chaplaincy Program
Our school Chaplaincy program has been running since 2009 and is an integral part of the student support services our school provides.
The Chaplaincy program is specifically tasked to actively and respectfully care for students and staff from a diversity of beliefs and worldviews and supports both students and staff emotionally and spiritually.
The Chaplain also is active as a role model for the students and is involved with the student body to encourage, support and sustain healthy relationships among their peers and families.
Our current Chaplaincy program incorporates the following:
Activities that do not include religious/spiritual content
- Helping with Play Group facilitating parent access and support with the running of activities and supervision
- Various programs to cultivate socio-emotional health among the student body e.g. Fun Friends and a member of the Kids Matter Team.
Activities within Chaplaincy
Include religious/spiritual content and require parental permission upon enrolment or during the term include:
- Each Wednesday morning before school the Chaplain helps facilitate a prayer meeting open to the school community.
- The 'Lunch Group' - Where students can have fun and hear Christian ideas on related topics/as well as a time for those wanting to know more about Christianity (only with parent permission and on a voluntary basis).
If you’d like any further information on any of the above programs or the school’s Chaplaincy program in general, feel free to contact me at the school on 46958571.
Yours sincerely
Donna Shearing - Chaplain
